Khabib’s manager predicts Tony fight at UFC 223

Khabib’s manager has predicted that the fight will be a nail-biting bout. It will result in Tony receiving a lose with brutality.

“Khabib is fierce,” he told Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole. “When you go there, he talks with you, he demolishes you.

“That why I said after this fight, Tony Ferguson is not going to be the same fighter anymore. He’s going to have the Khabib affect. When you fight Khabib, you have an effect. An effect will happen.

“You seen (sic) what happened with Anthony Johnson. I hope (Edson) Barboza will come back alright.

“When you fight guys; guys get cut from the UFC. He beat him up so bad, mentally. Sometimes when you get knocked out or submitted you can come back strong.

“But when you take an a**-whipping like this, like Frankie Edgar gave Cub. Cub was the never same, I don’t care (what anyone says). I love Cub Swanson.

“And Khabib, when he breaks them mentally like this, you cannot come back and be the same. It’s impossible.

“And I think Tony Ferguson, his days will be numbered after this fight. He’s not going to be around for too long.”

Nurmagomedov himself has vowed to make light work of Ferguson, telling Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole: “I’m going to make this fight easy.

“I want people to talk about this fight ‘wow, nobody had done this before to Tony Ferguson.

Like I did with Michael Johnson like I did with Rafael dos Anjos like I did with Edson Barboza. With everybody.”

Mauricio Rua talks Volkan Oezdemir match-up

Mauricio Rua believes a win over Volkan Oezdemir should see him handed a shot at the light-heavyweight title.

”This is a tough fight, but I know that, if I win, I will be one step closer to having another chance to fight for the belt,” Rua told MMA Fighting.

“I face every fight as a dream, and defeating Volkan is my dream now. That might earn me a chance for the belt.

“My focus is 100 percent on him, and I know that I will be closer to the belt with a win.

”Everybody knows my career, knows that I was a champion in PRIDE and in the UFC.

“I’ve been fighting the world’s best fighters since 2005, so if I win this fight I will deserve to fight for the belt — for my history, being a former champion, and for fighting someone like Oezdemir, the No. 2 in the ranking.”
