Dana White announces Punk, Lesnar and McGregor will return to UFC in 2018
CM Punk will return to the ring in 2018, he deserves a second chance:
CM Punk had a rough start in UFC in September 2016 when he was humiliated by Mickey Gall and tapped out after just two minutes and 14 seconds. At that time it was clear that CM Punk would not have another chance in the octagon.
Fans are still chanting his name in the WWE arena, they are curious to know about the future of the Straight Edge Superstar. Dana White revealed he would give Punk a second chance in the octagon. He said “I like that guy, he’s a good dude,’ White told the Press “he wants one more. He wants to get another shot and I’m going to give it to him”.
CM Punk made $500,000 at UFC 203, as compared to the established fighters like Miocic and Alistair. There hasn’t been any reaction from the CM Punk cabinet, but two things are clear;
- He will not return to WWE.
- He will continue MMA, even if UFC drop him.
Dana White has also suggested that Pay-Per-View sensations like Brock Lesner, McGregor, Nate Diaz, will return to fight in the octagon in 2018.
Lesnar to finally give up the WWE title?
Brock Lesnar has occupied the WWE Universal Championship title since time immemorial. If he is to return to the Octagon this year, does that mean his title reign is going to end this January, at Royal Rumble when he faces the Monster among Men, Bran Strowman and the Big Red Machine Kane in a triple threat fight? Only time will tell.
McGregor back in the Octagon?
McGregor has been out of action since “The Money Fight” and UFC fans have been questioning his hold on the Featherweight title. The Notorious hasn’t defended his title since he won it in November 2016. Word is that he could be stripped off his title if he continues to remain inactive as two deserving UFC fighters wait to grab the Lightweight Championship, Tony Ferguson, and Khabib.
